We are SO grateful for the huge outpouring of love that has followed the launch of our first-of-its kind Care 100 list. The list has traveled far and wide this week and been a source of light in an otherwise dark time, including lots of seeds planted for future collaboration — our not so secret dream for this thing.

Favorite error: beast pump instead of breast pump*

*But seriously, thank you for all being so gracious about the mistakes we made.

Favorite sighting in the virtual Care 100 honoree toast & mixer: Mayor Melvin’s baby raising a bottle of milk to the crew

Favorite serendipitous pairings in the mixer: Charles Daniels, expert on fatherhood, being paired with Brigid Schulte, whose Better Life Lab is working on a report about how fatherhood is changing; Natalie Foster, of Economic Security Project, being paired with Nii-Quartelai Quartey of AARP, comparing notes on what it would take to ensure economic security for older folks; the Courtneys — Martin & Leimkuhler.

Favorite tweet: From the OG, Anne Marie Slaughter

Favorite fun fact: people are spending lots of time on the site, far more than is typical for online behavior. We’re not surprised — there is so much to take in, but we’re glad people are marinating in all these incredible people and approaches.

Favorite future: one where we all stay connected (maybe in regular virtual mixers until the coast is clear?!) and get to collaborate in a wide variety of ways.

We are so grateful for this week of honoring and connecting. We heard a bit from other organizations thinking about creating their own lists (creative aging and disability justice!), with their own approaches. We love that idea. (We “stole” this one from public interest design.) Please replicate and adapt freely. It wasn’t an easy or fast process, but it was deeply rewarding.
